I asked in another thread but it should go here....

Any know how stereo stereo guitar effects work. (I mean in theory. The boxes them selves are easy to use.) What's going on inside the effects box?

I am pretty sure it is not a simple duplication of the signal like you might do with a Y cable. Or by simply placing an extension speaker cab across the room. Something different is coming out of each speaker.

I set up a clean Fender Champ tone in two amps and then plugged each into a Boss RV-5 reverb. The pedal split the guitar into a left and right output and then each when to a different amp. THe sound is very different. Actually it sounds like when a guitar is mastered for CD. It's hard to describe.

Stereo could get expensive but maybe worth the added cost.

I tried, I don't think stereo helps a distorted sound. Not much difference.
