NO, you don't disconnect anodes, just use a big DPDT, each screen with a wire to centre pin of the switch, UL wires at one side, and wires from the opposite pins to anodes, so you hace UL or triode (respect each tube wiring!).

That's one mod. If you also use other DPDT, left the first like before, but place wires from the UL side to the center of the new DPDT, and then wires from each side to UL wiring and center wiring. This will give you triode or UL/Tetrode mode.

UL mode it's something between tetrode and triode mode, in distorion therms... keep it simple, just tetrode to triode mode! But it's not very hard doing the other mod too.
