###have you tought of adding a tweeter ? ###

very cheap waveguide, its big, and I thought it looked real cool
tho not very practical :(

btw,
it's OT, but I'm also looking at some real nice preamps

highs are actually quite good on this woofer, despite its a 15"

my main problem now is amplification
I can only play very 'silent'
then its nice and clean
but with higehr SPL the sound gets so blurred, and I can hardly hear one note from the other

there might be phase issues between front woofer and horn
but I'm sure this is a clear amp problem

I plan to buy bass amp classD module from Audiopower.it

have looked at various headamps
but fear it's generally cheaply built

alternatively I would buy a 10watt Phil Jones Bass Buddy,
said to a nice practice amp

would really like to build my own pream
but haven't got the time to do it
and it would probably not be cheap either

I don't care much about big or small, but only interested in the quality of what I get

I think that's what decides peoples opinion of this or that kind of amp
maybe we know too much about how good amps are built
ofcourse the cheap amps are junk
what else to expect

the amp module I plan to buy is 500watt/4ohm
but that's not why I buy it
I think it looks good
and maybe the exstra power will make up fore a lower more moderate gain/input preamp signal

essentially it could result in a better working and harder driving power amp
cleaner sound with less distortion

........ how about a tube preamp (something simple) to go with the class d amp ?

one of the mic amps above actually have both SS and tube, and with adjustable blend of both
sounds neat

but yes, I would prefer to build my own, absolutely
and interstingly, Broskie have announced a new Aikido MONO kit, with onboard supply

well, I will also need a balanced output trafo :scratch1:
or, mr Thel in Germany has a new active balanced module
what makes that one interesting is a possibel 12db gain
but maybe tube pre with lots of gain will be overdriving it

I feel a bit on thin ice with that stuff

but it surely would be real nice to all of it in the same box
