Hi everybody,
does anybody know where i can get non-polar capacitors in europe? i need 22, 47, 100 and 20 uF, 25-63 V, axial. I have found radial but no axial capacitors.
I need them for my old mci-console....

hello.
have a look at speakershops and so.
nonpolar elcaps (in german: bipolar) are often used in crossovernetworks for loudspeakers,so most speakersellers sell them too,e.g. intertechnik , visaton (germany).................
electronic part dealers like conrad,rs-components,...........too.
greetings..........

Thanks for the answer.
Unfortanely there's mostly lower capacitances for speaker usage, or they are too big to fit on the board.... I have seen up to 100 uF, 63 V and they are too big.

make them yourself... two polarized caps twice the capacitance you want connected in series, + to + or - to - (doesn't matter)...
Has been thinking about that solution. Has anybody tested it, will there be any difference from using "standard" non polarized capacitors??
I think Yes, that will be "safer for cap. life" but what about ESR and equal inductance?.
I am also looking, searching for "Elna Silmic" caps from 4,7 to 100 mfd and difficult to find

In fact, the non-polar capacitors is the same as the traditional capacitor if the basic material is the same.
If you need a 10uF/50V non-polar capacitor, the 10uF/100V capacitor with polarity is the same.
Or you could use two 20uF/25V(22uF is the value in real world) in series.
