Schematic for tube compressor/sustain ?
Anyone know where to find one? I've got buckets of 12AX7s and 6SN7s so would prefere that tube.
Thanks in advance, John........ |
There was one in Glass Audio in the earlier part of the century, but I don't recall which issue, and my old ones are in a box in my storage shed. I do recall it was a complex SOB though.

Hello John,
You could try this forum: www.prodigy-pro.com/forum it's a pro-audio forum. They also diy this, so there are schematics around. Regards, Jarno. |
There are some schems for a few Universal Audio compressors here. Also, some other tube stuff:

Waltzing Bear. Thank you, I could not for the life of me recall the name of the site.

Thanks guys. Brett is correct that most of the tube compressors are a bit complicated. The WaltzingBear site is very cool though. The more I read up on compressors the less it seems to make sense to build one. It may be time for yet another guitar amp or preamp.
Thanks Again, John....... |
I usually find the diystompboxes.com forum to be the best source for stuff like this...
I think they have a long list of schematics up, too. You might be able to make a Maxon RCP660 or ART Levelar clone, if you really want a tube compressor. |
