Wanabe DJ

Hi. I have been into guitars etc for a long time now but have just began to get into hip-hop etc and i'm really looking for a change and do some DJing/mixing. All my friends are all into guitars, bass, drums whatever so i don't really know anyone who i can talk to about starting on DJing? I was just wondering what equipment i need to start off and learn how to DJ and if there was anyone in Ayr(scotland) i could speak to about it. Aslo Mix Master Mike is really the only artist i know who plays the style i like do any of you guys recomend anything else?

Thanks for anyhelp

You might want to check out a video by dj Qbert called do it yourself www.djqbert.com

It basically goes through the techniques of hiphop djing and scratching, aswell as the different hardware to get.. perfect if you're just getting into the scene
