hi again,
in my usual searching i found this thing: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/...130&Itemid=148 seems easy to build.... but, there are some details i'd like to clear up (for modding purposes): -when it says a "clairex" LDR is needed... is this obligatory, or any generic LDR can be used? -would this "incandescent lamp" be replaced by a simple LED? -for what is needed that rectifier?? ..there is a rectifier and a transformer... is this just the switch from AC to DC?? -these 2n2712 transistors.... have any replacements?? are they rare? thanks!! |

A generic LDR would work.
Yes the rectifier is there to supply DC from the AC line. And yes you could replace the lamp with a LED, although it may not work quite as well. just change R24 to around 600ohms. You could probably replace the 2n2712's with any high gain NPN, may I suggest 2n2222, 2n3904 or 2n4401 if you can't find 2n2712. |
