new to these forums, I could seem to find a section that this question fits in, I was wondering if anyone knows how they wire a 4 speaker guitar amp cabinet to come up with a 8 ohm load? 2 pairs of 8's in parallel then those 2 pair in series?

Yes, exactly, assuming the four speakers are each 8 ohms.
The wiring is in fact called series-parallel wiring. It allows four driviers to have the same impedance as one driver. |

As long as all the speakers are the exact same model, series wiring is not a problem.

series is always safer than parallel where speakers are at least close to the same wattage as ohms my go too low.
