Hey all,
I'm building a Cajón and I'm trying to find the best woods for the cabinet/box and the tapa (front playing surface). Main Questions: 1. Would building the cabinet out of solid wood (not plywood) make it weaker? Would I have to make an internal structure to brace it? How would that affect sound? 2. Can you recommend any woods that are great acoustical woods, pretty (for the outside), and durable (it can support my weight)? (For the cabinet) 3. Any woods for the tapa? 4. Have you ever built one and if so, can you share any advice you might have about anything? Thanks. ~TehYoyo |
