Anyone have any first-hand experience with the Alumitone pickups, from Lace (same guy as Lace Sensors, I assume)? They look like they have an aluminum sructure that makes an electrical (not magnetic) primary winding to some small secondary??? Not much of a magnetic strucutre, I'm not sure I even understand the magnetic field shape.
Supposed to have really good frequency response and tons of output. |

I just pickeed up some aluminum-neck bass guitars, and on one the "alumitone" pickup in the bridge position would go with the theme, as would the excellent treble response. But the one I'm considering for the Alumitone is short-scale, and I don't have much experience or luck getting good tone from short basses.
