Looking for Neumann N149 power supply schematic
My friend recently had a bunch of studio gear stolen, they managed to leave the M 149 mic but took the power supply. Anyone have access to the Neumann N149 power supply schematic??? Or if someone can explain what exactly pin 5 (sensor line) is? Thanks

Sorry to read about this. I hate thieves the most! While I'm not familiar with this microphone, I can make an educated guess. From what I just read at Neumann the filament voltage is regulated and uses what, in power supply terms, is remote sensing. This is a feedback line that senses the filament voltage at the tube in the microphone. Doing this compensates for any voltage drop that occurs in the connecting cable, which can be quite long. It also is run constant current which provides a soft start for the tube. I read that if you contact Neumann they are usually very obliging.

Try the yahoo microphone forum. It has been some time since I was active there and the group may have split into subgroups, but I'm pretty sure that they will help you out.

Best of luck - I thoroughly dislike thieves - I dislike thieves who steal tools even more ... and I had quite a few microphones stolen years ago. Curse those bastards.
