6L6GB Load Line

Ok so I was looking at Alessandro amps and noticed that he operates a lot of his amps in class A. I have a box of 6L6GB tubes from RCA not being used and was thinking of a Hi-Fi project but after reading about Alessandro amps I wouldn't mind taking a stab at making a class A guitar amp. Going by RCA design values in the datasheet for push-pull class A operation on page 3: http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/f...49/6/6L6GB.pdf
plate volts-250 load resistance plate to plate-5000 Blue line is the gradient (250/2500=100mA) and moved up is the green line. I can get 17w plate dissipation with 250v at 68mA (purple dot). Does this look at all right? Do I need a larger primary impedence? Any help is always welcome. |
