and natural, whatever that means

the only distortion I will accept is what makes it sound in the direction of acoustic bass

actually, right now, the only pre I have between my passive bass and power amp is a simple Bass EQ pedal switch thing
works ok
it even works in bypass mode

but it tells me that my future preamp build may be all I will ever need
that feels good, somehow
but if this speaker goes active, I will still have some means of controlling the sound

I guess we dropped the distortion requirement along the way and I missed that. Should be relatively straight forward then.

well, may not be that simple, it seems
part of my problem right now is distortion

its fine at low SPL
but I loose the clean sound when I play just moderately louder than low

funny, I just now found that the compressor has a high/low gain switch, for active/passive pickups

wonder what gain will be optimal for my tube pre

ordered a few 6n6p
and then decided, why not use 6n1p in front of it
so, a few of them ordered as well

got the plywood itch
had some 6mm plywood leftovers
and glued them together, into 12mm pieces
and hopefully the end result will be a nice box
