Godfrey, how could I completely bypass the pre bass circuit?

Replacing C5 with a short circuit (wire link) would totally bypass the pre-bass.

OK did that, and that solves the problem of the sub bass cut. apparently, even completely clockwise, the pre bass control still cut the some bass!

so I could leave out C5 and R3 and the pre bass pot like this:
