I gone over and over my power amp I built and cannot get any sound. It is a bassman aa864 but cathode biased. Everything else is exact. I don't have a preamp yet, it's just the phase inverter and output tubes.
Is that okay? Do I need to have the preamp plugged in? It is just a signal line, no voltages. All the voltages read within ranges. I have 420v on the plates, 418 on the screens, 270v, roughly, on the phase inverter plates, 12AX7. I cannot hear anything from the speaker. Please help..... |

I found the problem, the rotary switch is weird... and it does work w/o a preamp.
