hi all Ben in dublin eire here - I am building a 5D3 deluxe 'clone' and I have 2 hammond power trans to pick from -- one is rated 50 ma and one is 100 ma -- both have adequate heater current -- if I use the smaller one will I just get a lower wattage version of the amp or will the trans be stressed and malfunction ? thanks everyone !

If you suck too much current from a transformer it will heat up and fail prematurely ......
It is better to use a transformer that is too big than too small .... |
