Guitar Cabinet Making

Hello to all. I am trying to make a cabinet for guitar. I have a four 12 inch speakers and am planning to wire them to be 4 ohm. Anyway, the two speakers are different brands than the other two, is this going to be a problem?? And also, wondering what material should it be made out of?? I have mdf, cherry and other random boards. Any answers appreciated.

It is usually recommened to use a X pattern when you use two different model speakers. Most quality 4x12 cabs are made from void free plywood, so it will be lighter. MDF works as well but can make it heavy. Generally the cabs are 30"x30"x14".

Don't use MDF. It is heavy and if you drop it it has a better likelihood of getting damaged. That is unless you just want to park it somewhere and not move it. Go plywood, you will be happier in the long run.
