I've recorded some clips comparing the Eminence Governor & Wizard to the Celestion Vintage 30 & G12H30. The Governor is modeled after the V30 and the Wizard is modeled after the G12H30.
In my opinion, while the Wizard does have the slightly higher SPL like the G12H30, they don't sound similar. To me, the Wizard sounds more like a Vintage 30 on steroids and is my favorite of the bunch. It has a balanced, smooth sound. The G12H30 is a bit too harsh and dry sounding for my tastes. The Governor sounds more compressed and with less fidelity than any of the rest. In case you were ever curious in how these speakers stacked up against each other, here it is - YouTube - Eminence vs. Celestion Shootout (Part 1) |
