Hey guys, Im setting up my own DAW and I was wondering:
Does the Alesis Multimix 4 or 6 USB allow for multi track recording or do they just sum the outputs and output a stereo signal through usb? I'd be using Cubase hopefully or if I could afford it, pro tools, (does fruity loops allow for multi track recording? :P) My budget is <£100 and I'd need to be able to record 4 channels at once Cheers1 |

As far as I'm aware USB mixers usually only allow two channels at once, you need Firewire mixers for multi-channels.

I have ESI ESU 1808 sound card . It's a 24 bit / 96 khz USB device with 16 analog inputs and 8 outputs .
It's no problem to work with more than two channels on USB 2.0 Multimix 8 has 8 mono inputs and additional pair for main mix . It means that You can record 10 tracks simultaneously in Your DAW . I've just looked to manual for multimix 8 to be sure |
