I (and I'm sure a lot of other musicians) have need for an audio level meter (sound levels tend to creep up exponentially over time at gigs).
It doesn't need any fancy meters or calibration standards... just something that would drive say 5 or 6 LEDS in various colors that could be placed across the room so the band could see it. I would think it would need to be damped to hold the highest level maybe for a second or so. It would be "set" by cranking up the band to level the bartender could handle, turning the pot to light one or two of the lights... (well you get the picture).
Anyone have a design for something like this???
