One needs to realize that if you use Speakon to 1/4 inch plug cables that the "A" channel 1/4 inch sleeve is the HOT speaker signal to system ground.
DO NOT allow this to be shorted to ground. If one tries to use a DI from speaker output without ground lift you will blow the A side amp. The A channel is inverted in the mixer and the A output is again inverted at the output resulting in the sleeve being the HOT speaker lead. They do this to implement the bridged mode easily. |

The power amp stopped working completely. T4 was shorted, so I replaced all 4 IRF9460 and 640's fets, R1, R8 were open, and D9 15v Zener smt was also open along with R50 smt. On initial test, I was getting 51v at the speaker out on left output, but the fault was a cracked trace at D5. With all those in, it fired up lovely. The speakers are 8ohm 150w cabs Thank you for your reply.. Regards. Saranden |
