Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to make an easy to build balanced stereo Wet/Dry control. I want to mix a stereo balanced signal with another stereo balanced signal (namely it will be the compressed signal) and have a pot to control the blend of the two. So I have 12 wires going in and 6 wires coming out. Any hints? Can I do that with a single multi gang pot? |

hello.
gainstage one is summing up the signal (perhaps one pot per channel is enough - if not use for every channel a pot) and stage two (optional) inverts the signal back to phase integrity(if built with variable gain (pot) you can use it as a master volume per channel.....) perhaps it can help....... greetings............. |

I believe you can. excuse me, I should say "I would try that because I in theory it can work"
but you'll need a 4 gang pot, which isn't easy to come by, especially in a 1KOhm to 5kOhm value... Here is my basic idea: I don't really understand Franconio's idea, where is the blend pot?

The problem with useing a 4 gang pot is that each wafer in the pot won"t have close enough resistance to retain CMRR and a proper Ballanced signal , the Noise performance will degrade which negates the whole purpose of Ballanced signals...

Hmm... yeah well there was bound to be something. That's why I said "in theory it can work".
Oh well!
