Here are video clips of performance of my handmade ribbon controller.
My ribbon controller is constructed three parts as follow.
"Ribbon controller" - which is made with a film of electric conductor
(like black paper which include carbon , or rubber conductive bag.
It is pasted to the vinyl chloride seat.)
Body is made by conduit pipe which is used at office etc.
"Handmade simple analog oscilator" - which is include NE555 as main oscilator, and cmos frequency divider.
"Multi Effect(KORG AX1G)" - Sound of my analog oscilator is like
poor buzzer. But it is processed various sounds by multi effects(like you listened on my youtube videos).
more videos are here. check it out!
Please see also my home page for detail.
This is very interesting. Can you give some more details (or more photos) of the "Ribbon controller" - how it is constructed?
I've also seen your ribbon controller around the web, but I still can't find anything about it. Any chance you can let us know a bit more about it? :D
Thanks for comments.
here is new video of my ribbon controller performance.
I hope you enjoy.

hey dude great ribbon, I want to build a ribbon controller, you know for pitch bending and some jurdan rudess kind of fx, any tips?
Hello everybody. Here is New Video of Ribbon Controller.
Last Woman - Yukie, Naoe & Onoue - YouTube
Yukie Sato - Vocal , Guitar
Miki Naoe - Shortwave Radio
Yuichi Onoue - Handmade Ribbon Controller
In this video, we played Yukie Sato's Korean language song "Last Woman"
with Shortwave Radio and handmade Ribbon Controller.
I hope you enjoy.
I can see no VCA or equivalent, not even a gate circuit. The Bob Moog version had a trigger out, so that when you took your hands off the ribbon it didn't just revert to its highest note and keep playing, but cut out (well, as it was driving a modular, it could do anything, of course; but that was what it was designed for). And he made one with pressure sensitivity – I'm not sure how, but I can think of several usable techniques – which came out as a separate control voltage, so filter or amplitude could be dynamically controlled.
But the output of oscillator always connect to KORG AX1G
multi effect pedal which has continuous foot controller.
And it can controll cut off frequency of filter, modulation depth/speed,
volume and more. So it's not VCA or VCF, but it's FCA
(Foot Controlled Amplifier) or FCF(Foot Controlled Filter). Hi Hi. ;)
