I have a gainclone LM3875 kit that I haven't used and had thought about using it along with a tube pre-amp to make an amp for jazz and blues. Has anyone done this with success?
I am tempted to go all tube. I was advised to go 15w and higher if I go tube since I will need a little clean headroom for jazz. I have found a few circuits that look good but I wondered how to integrate an effects loop and/or reverb into the circuit. |

Hello,
No, i have not, but if you want to use that power amp kit on something cos you gonna build an all tube amp, maybe you can try a FET preamp, easier, cheaper and acceptable tube-like sound, check out this video: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=k5KyMLcrTqg I am building mine Have fun. |
