SWR Redhead speakers

I have an early (240 watt) Redhead and would like to replace the PAS speakers w/more durable speakers w/o losing the current sound. I've read where someone recommended Eminence Delta's - but which ones? Also read where the 12AX7 preamp tube was replaced by a 12AT7 tube - what difference does that make? Any other suggestions to improve my Redhead would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure about the difference in sound between Alphas Betas Deltas Kappas, Neos or even the classic series.
I think that soundwise all of the PA speakers are pretty neutral (not the classic series), you could try to shave off some weight and go for the Neodymium speakers, not sure what the actual difference in weight is, but apparently it does make some difference.
I think the tone controls, amp-sound and spitting piezo tweeter do more for the sound of this amp than the speakers.

Could someone comment on this?
