Hi did anyone ever get around to this?
I'm finding myself at the same place right now, wanting something small & light (ie not CR1604) to set up aux mixes for in ear monitoring.
The Shure Auxpander (huge) and Mackie HMX-56 are both discontinued so far as I can tell.
