Thanks but I am in the uk. I have also found two 12v psus with stabilised output so will try them.Jameco used to have heaps of wall-warts including +/-12V.

I used to use some Xformers for telephone, and I have one wall-wart with 10+10 AC
( 12+12 indeed...), but I used to find 10+10 AC and 30 V more common, probably needed for routing modems & phones in the offices.
Simple full bridge + 2 caps with no regulation. It is not really needed for an amplifier
