Default Ideas for 12AX7 / 6BQ5 headphone amp?

OK, I got this old tube receiver from a friend - it came out of one of those old console stereos. Maybe I should try a tube project someday. Tubes available are 12AX7 & 6BQ5 outputs, and I don't want to use an output transformer. I've seen the Helmut Ahammer project at headwize (http://headwize2.powerpill.org/proje...ammer1_prj.htm), and it looks pretty good. Any other ideas?

I have been thinking of this same idea however I am going to use a transformer as the Headphones I want to use with my Tube headphone amp have 12 ohm Impedance and that would require one huge OTL Amp not to mention the potential for high voltage coming into contact with your head. I think a SE 6BQ5 with a triode driving would be fine. This would result in a three possibly four tube Amp one 12AX7 one half for Right channel input and the other half for the left channel and one 6BQ5A as an output for each channel.

My other idea is a push pull High Bias 6BQ6A and 12AX7 this is 6 tubes plus rectifier. When I get an idea of what I want to do ill post hear so as you tube guys can help improve upon it.

Default hey!

I just found something similar on the side of the road a couple of days ago!!!

From what I've found so far, the 6BQ5 is the same as a 6V6 in a different package;

I'm going to start searching for schematics today
(I'm going to turn mine into a guitar amp - Fender Champ & Princeton use 6V6's)

I'll let you know if i find anything useful

A nice project for a SE Design I found. This uses, More tubes than I would, however the author claims a simulated 0.5% THD @ 6 Watts. http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/1965/se_sv811.html

Located at this site are what I think may be the Mother load of Tube Links to die for. I have bookmarked this page http://audionova.nu/Innehall/tubesite_misc.htm

The Data sheet for the 6V6 is http://firebottle.com/ampage/td/vtd6v6.html
The data sheet for the EL84 is http://firebottle.com/ampage/td/vtd6bq5.html
