Waiting for my PCB's for my tube poweramp, I dived into my parts bin with the idea to build a nice headphone amp (haven't got one besides the usual receiver and iPod outputs). I've got tubes, sockets and power transformers, together with the usual SS components laying around.
I'd really like to build a one-tube (12BH7 or 12AT7) amp without any transformer or big electrolytic capacitor on the output. So I guess a push-pull mosfet (or bjt) output stage with split rails for the SS part(?), but I'm an noob when it comes to SS so please correct me if I''m wrong.
I'd like it to at least properly drive a 32 ohm (grado) and 55 ohm (AKG) headphones.
Can any one point me to schematic or give me some tips to get me going??
