Default Audez'e LCD-2 - help needed for a DIY cable build

This will be my first attempt at making a headphone cable and would like to know if this is the way to go about it...

Unbalanced cable using a 1/4" TRS plug and 2 mini 4-pin XLR's for the headphone end, left and right.

Is this the correct way for wire hookup? See diagram below....

Four pins I think don't have a standard connection so I will follows exactly manufacturer recommends as per your posted pics.

I just use pins 1 and 3 on the mini XLR 1 for + and 3 for - so for you

left channel
phono tip = pin 1 on mini XLR
ground = pin 3 on mini XLR

right channel
phono ring = pin 1 on mini XLR
ground = pin 3 on mini XLR

Hmmm... so does this mean it's unnecessary to short pins 1/4 and 2/3?

up to you, its done internally in the headphones afaik, never had a complaint, but if you want to be 100% sure it wont hurt to short them. some places do silly things like using 4 wires, when lcd-2 is one of the easiest headphone loads around
