a portable headphone amp with bass and treble tone controls

hey guys,

i was looking to make my self a first headphone amp. and i wanted it to have bass and treble tone controls

well, the point is im having a lot of trouble finding a good (or any actually) schematic of such an amp.

heres the best what ive found so far

but the thing is that that schematic is supposed to be a preamp for a big system so i am not sure i can use it (correct me if im wrong here, im a total noob at electronics and such). and it also needs 2 9v batteries to power it, kind of strange, since ive seen similar designs with a single 9v battery, only without tone controls.

i found another design, but can it be used as an amp for headphones ?
