So I just started my first PCB board projects, the BantamDAC and O2 Amp. I should have listened and gotten the DAC soldered to the Bantam, but I thought I could do it. The way I have it doesn't look bad, but I am sure there are bridged connections, I used way too much solder. The O2 Amp is coming along nicely and I don't really have any questions on that one. I lost a very tiny chip for the Bantam though that is impossible to find. I tried searching for it but gave up. I asked the guy at GlassJarAudio and he said for $20 he'd send me a board with the DAC soldered to it. I still need that extra piece and I want to see if the DAC on my board works. What do you guys suggest I do?

First off, I'd go to curiousinventor.com and check out the soldering videos. The Surface Mount Soldering 101 shows two ways to fix solder bridges.
Secondly, use the process of elimination to find out what component is missing and post the info here for some tips. |

There were no soldering bridges. I just threw it out and got an Xtrememusic sound card instead.
