SoZ balanced preamp as headphone amp

Hi

I m looking for solid state headphone amp (for HD580 300ohm). Would the SoZ preamp work as a headphone amp ?

Does anybody know a link to a solid state good headphone amp ?

The BSOZ drives my Grados just fine.

The "Cmoy pocket amp" at the site rickcr42 referred to works great for the Senns.
The "Szekeres" amp at that site is similar to the BSOZ Nelson refers to, but it has no voltage gain. Works fine from a CD player.

Thanks to you for you replies.

Mr Pass : Excuse my stupid questions I m very new to audio diy. The BSoZ has a balanced output, and the headphone usually have a common ground. How do you connect it ?

Would it be a solution to cut the wires of my HD 580 and split it into two cables to fit the balanced output of the preamp ? I think this question has been discussed for I d like to know if somebody tried.

This is a great and very activ forum.

You can do that, or just ignore one output.
