That looks just like an example of Jung's composite opamps type amplifier.
A voltage gain opamp driving a current gain opamp (here a FET source follower). Is that a correct interpretation? |

That's pretty much correct.
Any op amp followed by a buffer could be traced back to Jung. |

There are plenty of options for new versions.
If you include discreet op amps followed by a buffer you could probably push the number up to 80% or more... |
