I got this pair of broken HE-6 from a friend. He asked me if I could put the electrostatic drivers in them. Since the size was very similar to the earlier headphones that I made, I made some changes to the designs, cut the parts, and put everything together. The conversion went pretty well.

I just keep myself busy with making headphones. For this time, I go back to my first oval shape design. I etch out all the unneeded copper and use 0.5 mm PCB as spacers. I learn how to oil the wood along the way. I really like how they turn out. The sound is the best among all the headphones I've made so far.
Hi Wachara - Wow - looks attractive to me - not least when the oil goes into the wood and the structure of the wood is clearer and gets a deeper hue and a slight "shine". Also interesting that you find those to be the best sounding of the ELSs you've made...
Can I ask you if - compared with your previous designs - you've made other changes to this ELS apart from the shape?
And then I wonder - might it be possible for you to take a close up photo of your stators' holes? Depending on how you made them I might have a suggestion (if you're interested of course) ...

... After asking you to make a more close-up photo of your stators I realized that it might be quicker and easier if I briefly illustrated what I would suggest - and then you probably already know if you've made the stators like this (and if it's interesting to you/possible to make).
So I've attached a very simple illustration of what would be my suggestion: To round the edges of the holes in the stator in an arc-like form (on the illustration they are cut-outs of an ellipsoid) so as to reduce potential turbulence or uneven flow/transmission through the holes when the sound plays.
From the photos you've taken I can't see if the holes are already rounded ...
Personally, I believe this would be quite audible, although I haven't tried it yet. But as you might have noticed from the other thread on ESHP (ES HeadPhones) I started I will be using round wires for the stators I'm making.
Anyway, this is my suggestion.

Looking at your material work it also makes me think that if I had the time it would be really interesting to learn to work with a CNC machine .... looks very precise your work ...

If you can, you should really try to work with a CNC machine. There are just unlimited things you can make using it.
As for my newest pair of headphones, you might notice that they're a lot larger size than any of my previous ones. There're no earpads to cover your ears. They are very light and comfortable to wear. I really like them.
The sound stage is huge. However, the bass doesn't go as low as the ones with sealed earpads. But it's not that bad at all. Many of my friends who have tried them actually prefered them to my other headphones.

The next logical comparison would be to make a rear enclosure to see the difference in the low frequency presentation.
