headphone distribution amplifier

Hello. I am a tabula rasa newbie and am looking to build a distribution amplifier to power a large array of headphones (up to 50 pairs) for an audio installation piece. The quality of the sound is not important, but I would like to be able to get as much gain as possible to each of the pairs. Any tips on where to begin would be greatly appreciated.

Use a regular power amplifier capable of driving loads down to 1ohm, and drive them all in parallel.
Place an individual resistor of 22ohms in series with each outlet, so that an individual failure doesnt blow all the thing up.
(Scheme applicable to 32ohms headphones).

Or you can,
have one central headphone amplifer
with one 50 Ohms output driver buffer per channel, left+right.

This output will drive two 50 Ohm coaxial cables to nearby the 50 headphones.

Then make 50 dual opamps at this point.
With Gain=1 and good output current (OPA2134 will do well for 32 Ohms phones).

Each opamp will have stereo output headphones jack.
