Default Aleph X as headphone amplifier

How to scale down an Aleph X? I think 10 watts is more than enough for most headphones/ear speakers, thought their impedance is much higher (32-600 ohm).

Your problem isn't the power, it's the lack of a common ground between the left and right channels. If you're willing to hack into the wiring for the left and right channels and run completely separate leads for the two speakers, you can make it work. Otherwise it won't fly.
Incidentally, 40W into 8 Ohms isn't 40W into 32 Ohms (Grado) or a couple hundred Ohms for some other headphones.

Thank you Grey, does 40 watts into 8 ohms equals to 10 watts into 32 ohms and 0.5 watt into 600 ohms? By the way I want to remove the 1/4" phone plug and drive each channel with a fully balanced amplifier

Yep. Slightly over .5W/600 Ohms.
