Hi Atilla,

Case will be the same as for the O2, the ODAC board will be installed in a tray for the enclosure. This has been decided for cost reasons to be able to supply the panels at a reasonable price. It will have both, 3.5mm output and RCA sockets if connection to a pre-amp is desired. They can't be used at the same time though...
I guess the tray itself could be used as well to install the ODAC in the B3 case above the batteries if desired. Someone with a B3 case would need to try it though as I don't have one handy...

Does anyone know what is the enclosure that JDS Labs is using for their Standalone ODAC? From the picture on their blog it looks like the dimensions are approximately 64x14mm (65x15mm maybe?)

I've tried to look at Hammond and Box extruded aluminium enclosures but none of them have enclosures with same proportions.

It would be great if someone could figure that out for us at DIYaudio.

Which brings me to the question, would you guys rather have a slimmer enclosure for the ODAC? I was also thinking about a stainless steel enclosure as alternative with all connectors at the back...

problem being a very slim enclosure is that the cable weight will probably pull it, so i rather have a larger one...

Slimmer enclosure yes, Stainless Steel I don't think so. I really like the look and the proportions of JDS Labs though.

This was one of the reasons to make the smaller enclosure out of stainless steel, this would add some weight to the table.
But as you can see below tastes are different.

The stainless steel enclosure I have in mind would have roughly the same size, no screws or connectors on the front but this way the RCA sockets would be sacrificed.
Alternatively, puting USB and 3.5 mm connector to the front would leave space on the back for the RCA output.
Case would be consisting of two U shapes, one making up the bottom, front and top whilst the other one consists of the sides and the back.

I will scetch something up once back from vacation.
