OK, I'll start.
Some of you here may know me. I hang out mostly in the Multi-Way and Class-D forums.
Been on diyAudio since 2004 when I was still living on a far away on a tropical island. It was the Tripath amps that drew me here.

Now I'm in Greensboro and doing audio consulting work. For the past year I've been doing a lot of work for Virtue Audio.

I like BIG speakers. They don't have to be pretty, but they do have to be big! As Cal Weldon says "Only big sounds big" So true. I like big speakers not because I like to play loud, but because of the scale. Sounds real to me. My current system is all Altec VOTT.

In electronics I work with Tripath chip amps, of course, but have used others, such as DDX and IcePower. I like Class-D, it's come a long way and is sounding very nice these days. I also build DACs and do DAC mods. Always the same trick, transformer output circuit. Love the way it sounds. =)

I live in Columbia, SC and have been involved with DIY audio for about 5 years. My most recent project was a home theater with an infinite baffle subwoofer and DIY mains and center speakers based on Jay Kim's 8945P/810921 2-way speaker. Pics at the link below. I'm not currently planning any projects for the near future, but I still like to tinker and learn.

SET guy here Current amps are SV811 monoblocks, Fostex 168 Sigs in BIBs, building a new preamp...probably going with a 76 transformer-coupled.

Audio setup is back in NC, but I'm working Mon-Fri in northern VA near DC...so listening to it has to wait until I can make it back every couple weekends...

Hi, my name is Chris. I live in Greenville, SC. I currently have a pair of jim griffin's 2 ways with the jordan driver and a ribbon tweeter. I have a giant 16 driver nsb open baffle speaker sitting away in my room(full range), and I also have a pair of tapped horns that use the emminence lab 12, and are good to 20hz. My only other project is a sealed 15 dayton dvc.

Hi all. My name is Travis, I have been looking for a NC group for a while and just found this (right after PMing Pano ) I'm in Wilmington, NC.

I'm an IT Professional, self employed, and am an Electronics Engineer with a background in designing microcontroller based control and monitoring systems. I also have done a moderate amount of PC software development. I've done LCD repair, some TV and Amplifier repair too, but could really use someone with more experience to get together with on the amps cause I have a boat-load of them to fix (mostly car audio, couple of home), and the Phoenix Golds are complicated animals. I'm very experienced at soldering, and can handle small fine pitch SMT components.

I love music LOUD. It's never loud enough. I've had MANY car audio systems I built, and I'm trying to do something with my HT now. I'd love to get with some people and listen to their setups and talk shop over some beers or help work on something.

In Durham.Recently completed a bi amped system using Cornwalls and two P3A amp boards from ESP in Australia,Rod Elliott.

For me its about clarity.I like to hear the artists feet on the piano pedals and the moisture on their lips,the brush slide across the cymbal and of course the lyrics.
