I had a question was, u prefer use full version of Tent XO for the dac or only use the low jitter XO.
If U feel the low jitter XO was good. I can order from the factory.
The coming that I use was 11.2896XX, low jitter version. hope this will peerform better!!!!

thomas

I have some Tent Xo at home that I use regularly . Also an 11.289600.
I just insert the Tent Xo in your ver.3 TDA 1541A dac and listened.
Well the good Tent sound is there , and noticiable ( by my point of view) better than the one present on board . Expecially with the digital filter at work .
I am not saying that yours is bad ... just that I prefere the Tent and I believe that it is less Jittery .
As explained elsewhere pps is irrilevant to understand jitter and even less to measure it .
The Tent Xo specifications declare a 4pico seconds jitter ... if I am not wrong .

Thanks again for a very nice project .

hi stefanobilliani,

very thanks for your informations.

XO or VCXO tha I use on the ultimate version was 11.2896XX, I cannot make sure it was same as tentlab 11.289600 this accurancy. But it will very close. Another questions was about the jitter, I only ask for the factory about the spec of oscillator that I order must Lower jitter. I will ask for them if I special order in 4 pico sec that how much for it. Since this dac ( ultimate ver). will not over 45 degree temperature inside the chassis. Looks not need use TCXO in this area, unless I add the 5687 tube buffer. I can save some money to change for the low jitter version.

stefanobilliani, if the factory really can spec order for this this. I will order from them this low jitter oscillators that was same spec as tentlab.

I will try my best to maintain lower price to diyers.

This several days will updates for the low jitter oscillator detail.
Hope I can get this spec & in low price.

thx

thomas

hi all ,

full balance of 1541a arrived.

take a look.

photos show was the sample ---A, B & C was coming!!!

I was testing my new sample 1541a ( Full balance DAC).

This DAC was collect many diyers feedback in this forum & change, layout, ground, parts choice. Now was try to search a low jitter XO or VCXO to further lower the jitter of this dac. Any comments to improve more????

This toy, I thought full balance may be the ending of the 1541a chips.

any comments were welcome because I hope this will be one of the best 1541a in diyaudio.

thx

thomas

more photos.

digital signal pass the 7220P/B & use XC9572Xl ( CPLD) to seperate

left channel (+ & - date to left channel 1541a) Right channel (+ & - date to right channel 1541a chip).

so this will be veru good for previous diyers which buy two chips.

thx

Hi Thomas!

The dac looks nice. Confirm that each channel has the balance output n single ended output as well?

Cheers!

Eddy.

hi eddy,

this is the first sample.

another two was coming. I need to test more & this is a full ( real balace ) dac, It had 4I/V so why every channel use two 5532 & one 5534 output.

SE every channel will very easy to change.

Next I wil try to prepare 4 SE output trans for the balance.

This will be same use two SE OPT & working as a PP OPT, but SE trans had airgap. sec harmonic will rich. I hope to try this too.

Btw, every dac ( balance) version can totally working with 4 chips. U can choose paralell two chips (every channel one chip more) & running in Full balance & full parallel DAC. I thought this may be the final version of 1541a DAC.

Power trans ( isolate one) will directly solder into the power supply PCB, will not same as this. Every dac will contain two power trans. Less cable will looks clear.
This dac will same be fully test fully funish & willse CS8412-IS.

Five minutes before I received a phone call that the low jitter 11.2896XX oscillator was found already. but this must tailor made.
Must waiting at least 4 weeks. I will choose this for all my coming dac.

AD1865 full balance was coming too.

thx

thomas
