Quick update:
I have a few more boards left as an FYI since people have been asking. On the building front, after spending half a day tracking down a variable hum that didn't make any sence and then realizing that my board was too close to my transformers on my bench (duh), I have a few observations to share with folks working on the boards. If I set the gain too high, I get pretty awful clipping that shouldn't be happening, but it definitely is. I haven't found the sweet spot, but I will let you know when I get there. Bypassing the input caps hasn't caused me any problems yet. A simple darlington output pair is extremely easy to wire up p2p, but I haven't tried parallel output stages yet. That's on my to do list. The descrete stages will have have to wait for a little bit, but I think I have a CFP/Sziklai-Pair that will work well. I'll let you know when I get something solid up and running. David |
