Would anyone else in Europe be interested in a group buy for custom transformers for the KSA50 project? I have been in negotiations with a custom transformer manufacturer and have been offered the following deal if I can get at least 10 units purchased.
This is a specifically prepared for audio use transformer and features an oversized, mechanically stabilized core, and the centre will be potted. Also the windings will be heavily taped to further reduce vibrational noise. Specifications: Input: 230v @ 50Hz Output: 2 x 28-0-28 Rating: 1250VA Core: 2KVA Size: 20cm dia x 10cm high Weight: Lots. If I can get the afore mentioned 10 purchases, the cost for these will be £125 each. Delivery will be £12.50. Is anyone else interested? |

I feel tempted.
The £12.50 is that the shipping cost to you or to the end user? Cheers |

That is to anywhere in the UK. Delivery to Europe is an extra £30.00. These will weigh approx 15 Kilos when packed.

Unfortunately the manufacturer does not wish to ship abroad because of the extra paperwork and customs declarations that would be required. I have tried to convince him of its ease, but to no avail. Therefore all order for Europe would have to come to me (or someone else) first then posted onwards.

Hmmm tempting, Does the £125 include VAT and when do you need to know by?

Yes, £125 includes VAT.
I would like to get the orders placed before Christmas. So we have a fair bit of time to play with at the moment. Ideally I will leave this open until the end of Nov start of Dec then start collecting payments from those interested in participating. |

Tiger Torroids.
We have used them before for custom transformers and am very impressed by their work. When I mentioned these were for audio use, they suggested the modifications above to improve performance and reduce mechanical noise. |

I'd prefer two smaller ones for full dual mono, say 4-500VAs.
