Hi Craydive.

While matching is almost always a good thing, I don't think there will be much improvement over non-matched mosfets in cases other than offset stability, and even that is not guaranteed. If you plan to not use the 4 source resistors then matched pairs may be marginally better for current sharing. Overall, there isn't a big enough reason to recommend matched mosfets for v4h.

Matched transistors deal Q1 Q2 Q9 Q10

Hi,

As I don't own good tools to pair these,
I'm looking for one of you to do it for me this way:
I purchase a bunch of q1 q2 q9 q10, have them
sent directly to you, you make the necessary pairs for 4 boards, and you keep all left for you.
If you have the tools and interested for this, just PM me.
Maybe more people interested?

I just checked at Farnell. They have them all.
Q1 q2 are quite cheap: 13 euros for 100 of each
Q9 q10 are more expensive: 34 euros for 100 of each.

The DCA55 (and it's bigger brother, the DCA75) is plenty accurate for that. I mainly use it for small-signal stuff because the test current is very low. For higher-power transistors I use a DY294 (search eBay) because it's got a couple of steps for Ib. Again, plenty of options available, just have a look around - the point was just that a component tester is a good investment :D

However, one major benefit for me of the DC55 is that you clip testleads onto the transistor legs instead of putting parts in a socket. That means I can buy taped TO-92 parts and measure them while on the tape. Then I can measure 100 parts at a time (boring) and then just cut off matching pairs when I need them :)
