PeeCeeBee V4 GB!

Love my V4 Rev 1 amp! Any news on the upgrade to existing Rev 1 owners?

Here we go: (one channel shown)

Step 1: Get 2x47pF and 2x220pF 500V ceramic capacitors and cut their legs like shown in the pic.

Step 2: Bend one leg of each capacitor at its knee to 90deg.

Step 3: Remove C9 and C10 from V4 Rev1 PCB.

Step 4: Solder the bent legs of the four capacitors as shown. 47pF facing the input side and 220pF facing output side.

Step 5: Bend the floating straight leg of the 47pF capacitors and solder it to the floating leg of 220pF.

Step 6: Get a pair of 2K2 1/4W resistors. Cut one leg at 5mm from its body. Solder that leg to one of the pads for 47R resistors close to the output terminal. Solder the other leg of each resistor to the floating solder joint of the 47pF and 220pF capacitors on its respective side. Cut off the excess length of legs.

Done. Enjoy the music. :)

The above modification results in the following changes in 1KHz and 10KHz harmonic spectrum. Power 45W, load 5R, PSU 35V, MOSFET bias 100mA.

PeeCeeBee V4 Rev2 layout looks like this.

C15, C16, R31, R32 added. Due to space constraint R31 and R32 sits in vertical position.
edit: mounting holes for Q9 to Q12 has been re-positioned. Now the VAS has a little more leg space and ECX devices will be easier to mount.
