It appears that the 2SC1815 and the ZTX450/2N2222 do not have the same pin configuration!!!

As I wrote just before, I did not realized that the pin configuration of Q3 you used is different than the one of ZTX450/2N2222.
Now things are clear

I can't seem to find the schematic for the latest mini Zen board. Can anyone direct me to a link or post it please. I want to start on my boards tomorrow.
