Chris,
I used it as my main DAC until about 3 years ago when I moved from NY to California. Since moving I've tried quite a few different DACs and this has been one of the favorites but not the only one that I use. The slightly rolled off sound, which comes from the non-oversampling, is a bit dull with my current system so I think I need to try out the sync correction filter. A Hagerman Chime Dac had an enticing sound that I think is more open and realistic in the highs. But the TDA1541a is eminently listenable and in the right system remarkably good. Perhaps the filter change or adding a tube output stage will bring it back to the front of the pack.
