Haven't finalized on the actual part but as shown specs are 150Mb/s or better
Narrowing on TI ISO7240 150/Mb/s, 8.5 ns or Silabs 8440 150Mb/s 6ns Of course, any other suggestions most welcome In case wondering why speed and delay matters when the signals would be re-clocked anyway is for those who may want to use just the isolated outputs only from the above chips and looking for the best. So again, another flexible option from this design.

Hmm... dunno why but Farnell had the adum3440 at 32ns when the datasheet claims 5ns, and neither they or RS stock the Silabs part.

The Silabs 8440 is not available from digikey either. Anyway, they all have identical pin-outs and footprint so you have also choice here. BTW, please do not order components yet until we have firmed up the design.

Prove it and I'll buy the IL.
![]() Yes, it's free. Legally free. No restrictions except that I don't export, use for the military etc or sell it. And that makes me love Ti. And love is why I think Ti has the best part. My conscience is at peace because of the OPA627 I bought. And the SRC4193 EVM. And PCMs...... and ....

already have bought the IL for the fifo isolator last year. actually yes there is restrictions, its supposed to be used to prototype products for sale =) then those additional restrictions on those sales, what fake sales targets did you put in the form? hehe.
everyone does it, but I try to keep it to a minimum these days and I am actually saving it for product research. I dont think listening tests count as assessment for hi-speed data isolators... not what they have in mind. we've been through all of this with Ian, the IL and Si are the best parts, but on a value basis the Si as its much cheaper. I prefer magneto coupled to capacitive though I think. |
