Alternates at Mouser:

Bourns 18mH

Xicon 18mH

The Bourns one is shielded, most specs the same, but self resonant frequency is different.

I would imagine the bourns is fine, but lets wait on EUVL on Joachim.

This is unfortunate. On the other hand i can not imagine that this part is not made any more. I can only hope that Fastron has an answer. In the unlikely event that it needs too long to source this part we have to look for an alternative. It works very well though so we thought we have the optimum solution.

I checked the Bourns and the Xicon. DC impedance did not make a big difference in my simulations but they have a lower self resonance of 200kHz against 500kHz of the Fastron.
If that makes an audible difference i can not tell. That has to be tested.

To avoid long discussions or other people jumping in, XEN audio just ordered all remaining stock from Mouser.
We are looking around to see if we can find another 100x or so.

If we can, we shall ship them to you at original cost, and Fran just make one transfer to us on your behalf.
If not, we need to find a replacement part and Joachim has to approve.
In any case, we shall :

a) find a solution,
b) everyone gets the same.

Give us a few days,
Patrick

This is a typical case where the frog is the prince.

Many thanks guys,

I will ring fastron this morning - but a search from their website last night didn't yield anything.

Joachim is calling Fastron Germany head office.
Please give us a chance to deal with this.
We will offer you a solution one way or another.
