what exactly this device does ? I am participating in GB for Subbu DAc based on es9023 so maybe it will be useful as well ?

I'm planning on putting together a shunt supply for this later tonight. There are options regarding the voltage required:

post 118

So we are specc'd at from 9 to 15V and allow for ~40mA to be safe. Would 12V be a nice handy target to aim at?

The BF862 are cascoded and see about 5V Vds. So the rail voltage has little effect on its performance.
Since it is meant for the DAC output, you are unlikely to see more than 4V output swing.
Add another 6V headroom for the J111 to operate properly, you have Joachim's 15V.

The BF862s are mostly under 20mA each. So 40mA will be sufficient for 1 PCB.
