Hi all
I've been partially delevered, waiting for a second delivery.
I've begun sorting parts according to your orders, SMD takes a ot of time...
Can't ship before receiving all the parts.
Keep you updated as soon as possible.

VT67, can't post the board layout as I don't have the information.
About ETA on PSU boards, ask Subbu, hope it won't be long.

Hello All,

I have been long silent as I had some family emergency to take care and tight work schedule. Waiting for the PSU prototype boards to be delivered to me. Once the design is validated I will get in touch with the group for the final count of PSU boards to be ordered.

I have attached the PSU PCB silkscreen image.

Thanks to all for your patience.

Subbu

Hey I recognize that PCB ! There is a small "peculiarity" on the PCB. Anyone seeing it ?

I hope the family issue is OK now Subbu. Such matters are way more important than hobby stuff.

Yes. And there is also C13 which is not on the schematic either but both parts can be added for those that have "noise paranoia" ;)

Both are not strictly necessary as they are only for testing purposes. I left the footprints in the rev. 5.0 PCB design as they don't hurt. Cled is parallel to the power LED (yes I am a joker) and it can be a 0805 6.3 or 10 V cap in a large value like this one:

http://nl.farnell.com/avx/08056c106kat2a/capacitor-10-uf-6-3v-0805-x7r/dp/1657936

C13 can be a 1210 size 1 uF 25 V cap, it is connected directly from the emitter of the BD140 to GND. Please await validation of the final PCB version by Subbu.

You're welcome Dufus, hope we will have soon a happy ending.

Jean Paul gave some crucial informations about following parts type :
1° - C19, C22, C26, C29 and C8 for SE
2° - C19, C22, C26 and C8 for BAL

Those caps must be tantalum (highly prefered), not ceramic as initially mentionned in the BOM...
To make it short : tantalum will avoid MIC5205 oscillations and improve regs stability and BTW DAC perfs.
Bad side for you : more delay... (ordering/delivery delay/sorting)
Bad side for me : more parts sorting, labelling, etc...
Good new : there are some money left to cover the full order.

You'll have some extra parts 1 x 1uF + 4(SE) or/and 3(BAL) x 4.7uF caps per ordered set.
HINT : Old unused C8 (1uF/25v - 1210) could perfectly fit new C13 position ;) (to be confirmed by Subbu !)

No confusion as the new refs are Tantalum, BTW polarized in the following position :
1° - C19, C22, C26, C29 and C8 for SE
2° - C19, C22, C26 and C8 for BAL
The Build Guide will be revisited in this view

Phil

Hi all
I've been delivered this afternoon, MIC5205 have finally landed ;)
I've packed those within each order according to quantities.

I will receive tomorrow morning Tantalum caps, refer to Post #117.
Those parts are polarized, so be carefull while soldering...
Build guide would be updated in this view.

I've done my best in labelling parts, quite small with SMD's.

Hope to begin shipping tomorrow.
Please rvrazvan, confirm your full delivery address in PM.

Hi it can not be repeated enough: most (but not all) tantalum caps have the markings for the +. So not like normal electrolytic caps that have the - marked. Confusing for beginners who seem to be attracted to our not so beginner friendly DAC.

HINT : Old unused C8 (1uF/25v - 1210) could perfectly fit new C13 position ;) (to be confirmed by Subbu !)

Good hint ! If I were you I would start to think this is a setup !
